About Rick Nelson

Hello friends! I'm Rick Nelson, the 2019 Nebraska Realty "Rookie of the Year" and a Top 10 (out of 1,000+) agent with Nebraska Realty for 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024! I'd love to be your go-to agent for buying or selling a home anywhere in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro area (I'm licensed in both Nebraska and Iowa). About Me I'm an Omaha native and a graduate of Central High School and UNO's Business Finance Program. After college graduation, I served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years before retiring in 2007 as a Lt Colonel. My wife Charlotte and I have raised five amazing kids while living in Papillion, and I continued to serve the Air Force as a civil service employee for another 13 years, retiring from Air Force serve after 33 years in July of 2020. My love of helping people and my diverse experience in real estate over the past 30 years have led me to Nebraska Realty, where I'm excited to be able to provide guidance and assistance to my many friends in the local and military communities as they navigate the challenging task of finding the perfect home, or of selling a cherished home. I started my real estate business with one primary goal: To continue my lifelong commitment to serve my community. I have brought to my business my commitment to the Air Force Core Values, deeply ingrained in me after 33 years of service: Integrity first. Service before self. Excellence in all I do. I have established the following Mission Statement for my business: "Providing world-class customer service, responsiveness, education, and advice so that my clients can make the best possible decisions for their situation." My commitment to my clients is that I will: Listen first, advise second. Respond immediately to all requests. Base all decisions on what's best for my client, not what's best for me personally. I pride myself on being "relentlessly competent." It is my core belief that the job of a real estate professional is not "sales," but rather that of being an effective educator and expert advisor for all my clients. I enjoy sharing my life experiences with my clients to help provide the advice needed so they can make decisions that result in outstanding outcomes. As a military member who PCS'd 10 times in 20 years (and bought and sold 4 homes along the way), I can definitely relate to the anxiety and uncertainty military members face having to relocate to an unfamiliar part of the country, or having to sell a home quickly in order to move a family together to a next assignment. I've "been there, done that," and would love to help alleviate that stress for my military brothers and sisters! For my remote clients who can't house-hunt in person, I provide high-resolution video walk-throughs and expert analysis to help my clients make sound decisions when they purchase a home before arriving (which I realize can be a terrifying experience). I've been honored to have won the following awards: 2020 Nebraska Realty "Top 10 Agent" (#5 our of 800+ agents in Sales Volume) 2019 Nebraska Realty "Rookie of the Year" 2019 Nebraska Realty Top 10 Sales Agents (out of 720) 2020 Nebraska Realty Top 10 Sales Agents (Volume) 2021 Nebraska Realty Top 10 Sales Agents (Volume) 2022 Nebraska Realty Top 10 Sales Agents (Volume) Featured in "Real Producers" Magazine as a Rising Star in the Omaha area, May 2022 Top Small Team at Nebraska Realty, 2022 2023 Nebraska Realty Top 10 Sales Agents (Volume) Top Small Team, Nebraska Realty, 2023 2024 Nebraska Realty Top 10 Sales Agent (Volume) #2 Small Team, Nebraska Realty, 2024 Fun Fact: I am a U.S. National Senior Games Pickleball Champion! I competed in the Mixed Doubles 4.0 Event in Pittsburgh in July 2023, and my partner and I won the Gold Medal over 28 competing teams from 28 States! If I can be of assistance to you or anyone you know, please don't hesitate to call me at 402-677-4805 or email me at ricknelsonhomes@gmail.com. Thanks! Rick
